If you’re looking for permanent hair removal at home this really isn’t an easy thing to come by. There are products or devices that claim you can achieve this objective with products used in the home but the findings are rather doubtful.

Here’s where the problem comes into the picture. When we hear the word permanent most of us think of something that will last forever. So, when we say we are in need of a product that will achieve permanent hair removal at home, we assume we are after a product that will take care of our unwanted hair removal once and for all. However, those in the hair removal industry have a totally different concept in mind.

The True Definition of Permanent

Of course when you really think about it, so do many other industries. When you head to your local hair salon and ask for a permanent, you know this isn’t going to last forever. You will get perhaps a couple of months out of your hair treatment but not much more than that. When you go back for your next permanent you don’t get angry at your stylist for lying to you. At least I know I don’t.

But when we ask for permanent hair removal at home or elsewhere we do expect that it will actually last forever. The problem is that when it comes to the hair removal industry, a product that inhibits hair growth for as much as one year is allowed to make the claim of being permanent. Now getting one year of not having to deal with unwanted hair is a good thing but do keep this in mind as you continue your search.

Is Permanent Hair Removal at Home Possible?

Most people will say that electrolysis is actually the only process that will get rid of unwanted hair forever. But most will also say that permanent hair removal at home with one of these devices available on the market isn’t likely to achieve these types of results. You may get temporary results with one of these products and that might be all you need.

This is especially true when you take into account the much lower cost saving of purchasing one of these systems as compared to having laser or electrolysis in a professional clinic. But do proceed with caution and check out any product carefully before making a purchase.

There are creams, hair inhibitors, lasers and even electrolysis machines that will claim permanent hair removal at home with their products but in all likelihood the best they will do is either reduce the amount of hair, slow down the hair growth or prevent growth for a short period of time. However, many of the much cheaper products such as waxing, threading and creams may do the same job for far less than an expensive laser of electrolysis machine.

Be careful falling for outlandish claims. And keep in mind that if it sounds too good to be true… Well I’m sure you know what I mean.
