That’s why you hear all those commercial touting a nice close shave that leaves the skin smooth and hair fee much longer. This is a nice touch (pun intended) but it does trigger the next drawback of this type of hair removal for men, which is skin irritation.

The irritation to the skin from shaving occurs especially on men with sensitive skin. Not a nice handsome look no matter how you try to cover it up. Irritated skin on a daily basis is not something to look forward to and this causes guys with this problem to seek out alternative methods of hair removal for men. Alternatives such as depilatory creams or even waxing.

Hair Removal Alternatives…

Most men don’t use lasers or electrolysis because of the more permanent nature of these treatments. The macho male instinct still leans toward the thinking that male facial hair is masculine. And who knows they may someday just want to have that full beard or perhaps just a small mustache. They just never know, so something more permanent is not an attractive choice when it comes to facial hair.

However, more men are opting for laser treatments or electrolysis when it comes to hair on their arms or chests. They may not use these types of hair removal for men to the extent of fully eliminating all their hair in these locations. But they may get a few treatments to slow down the growth or thin it out a bit. Many guys do think arm hair and chest hair is still macho to a point, just not too much of it.
