In today’s fashion-oriented world, where women are expected to look stunning whatever the circumstances, unwanted hair is a big issue. Life’s getting busier too, and there’s only so much leisure time left to play in, so where’s the time to sit and remove all the hair off our arms, legs, and back? And sometimes this can be quite a costly business too. So how do we deal with the problem?
Laser hair removal has become a lot more popular now. This is the process of removing all those unwanted hairs using the latest technology available to us, and that too with much more long term results than the old methods of shaving and waxing. As always, the best laser hair removal clinics are those that are operated by licensed dermatologists or cosmetic surgeons. But be sure to comparison shop for the best laser hair removal prices before signing any contracts.
What are some of the reasons you would want to visit one of the best laser hair removal clinics? You benefit from knowing that those unsightly hairs are all gone, without the nuisance of having to wax and shave so often, and over time, you save money, and avoid the bane of the frequent shaver - ingrown hairs. To ensure that you get the best laser hair removal possible, you need to know that the best laser hair removal equipment is useless without a skillful technician operating it.
The people who would benefit most from laser hair removal would be those with fair skin and dark hair. The reason for this is that the laser focuses on the pigment called melanin found in dark hair and skin, so the darker the hair and lighter the skin, the higher the chances of success. This makes it easier to be targeted by the laser, and so each sitting of laser hair removal will be much more efficient than in any other case. Because of their lack of melanin, people with blond and red hair will have to wait for the methods of laser hair removal to suit their hair colours to be developed properly, although there is work in that field too.
Concerned about side effects of laser hair removal? The best laser hair removal techniques should not leave any side effects as the laser would ideally have to focus on only the hair and leave the surrounding tissues unscarred, but there have been occasions when cases of burning, lesions and skin discolorations have been noted. Therefore, as with any other new procedure out there, make sure that when you go for laser hair removal, you go to the best laser hair removal clinic you can find!

If you want to remove hair and stop it growing back the easiest and most effective way is with electrolysis hair removal. Shaving, waxing, bleaching, buffing, depilatories and plucking are not as effective, do not produce long lasting results and cause more skin problems than electrolysis. The information contained within this article will help you to understand more about electrolysis hair removal so you can be more informed about the process and make a decision based on facts and not assumptions. This will also give you the most beneficial reasons to use electrolysis.
First let's look at the process of electrolysis hair removal. What is electrolysis? Electrology is the act of performing electrolysis depilation with a hair-thin probe made of metal in order to remove hair. The hair is removed by placing the probe into the hair follicle without puncturing the skin then electricity is sent through the probe to destroy the root of the hair follicle resulting in removal of the hair. Each individual hair has to be removed with the probe and takes about one minute per hair for removal. Electrolysis can be tedious and time-consuming, but it is also the most effective hair removal method currently available. Electrolysis the only hair removal procedure approved by the FDA and also found safe and effective by them.
What results can be expected from electrolysis? As with any other hair removal procedure results will vary. Most people are able to eliminate hair growth permanently over a period of time. A few people do not respond to this treatment as well but for the most part have had positive results. The process of electrolysis hair removal must be performed in several sessions in order to achieve optimal hair removal results and is far more effective and superior to any other traditional hair removal method.
Is it permanent and does it hurt? Normally this process results in permanent hair removal over time or at the very least partial permanent results. The results of electrolysis vary from person to person. Depending on your threshold of pain electrolysis hair removal can hurt a little. Most people said that they felt a stinging or tingling sensation that did not last long. Professionals that perform this procedure do have topical anesthesia for those who experience more than average pain. That is uncommon.Remember that electrolysis at home is not recommended. This procedure requires special skills and trained professionals for effective and safe results.

If you are one of the millions of folks who would like to get rid of hair from places where you wished it was not, but you do not want to pay thousands of bucks to hair removal professionals, buck up! There are plenty of home hair removal products that are easy to do and relatively cheap. Read on for a look at some of the more common home hair removal techniques that you may like to try yourself.
Shaving Tips for Men
Shaving in the shower softens up the whiskers and gives a smoother shave. Whether you use a cream or a gel, it is not the quantity you apply but instead how you apply it. Apply shaving cream or lotion by massaging it gently onto the skin. This causes the pilli muscles to raise the whiskers up which makes them easier to trim. Single blades offer an improved shave over that of double or triple ones. Change your blade once it becomes dull. Shave in the direction that your hair grows for the first couple of passes, then reverse and shave in the opposite direction the last time. Wash your face with cool water following your shave and pat but not rub, using a towel. Many men have to shave their faces twice per day although daily shaving is a lot more common.
Shaving Tips for Women
Choose razors made especially for women. They are more conveniently shaped and hold the blade at the proper angle for legs and under the arms. Run warm water on legs and underarms before massaging in your gel or shaving cream. You do not require expensive shaving lotions, since hair conditioner works just fine. Women are better off shaving unwanted body hair at night when body fluids are not so tightly packed around the hair follicles. Be careful when shaving the bikini line as your underclothes can chaff you if you leave a shaving rash behind. Shaving facial and mustache hair will not make it grow back thicker. That is an old wives tale. Underarms are normally shaved twice per week depending on the desired appearance and how fast the hair grows. Legs may also need similar frequency although many women find that once per week is adequate.
Tweezing Tips
Make a point of cleaning your tweezers in hot water before using. Wiping with alcohol is better still. Tweezer body hair removal is wonderful for shaping eyebrows or removing stray hairs on the face and chin. Avoid tweezing nose hairs as infection could result. Tweeze in the same direction as the hair growth. Cover the area to be tweezed with a hot face cloth for a a couple of minutes to open the pores. Do not use creams or moisturizers before tweezing as it can cause infected or blocked pores and it might make you slip with the tweezers. The effects of tweezing typically last for two weeks or more.
Tips for using Depilatories
Before using any form of cream or lotion, perform a skin test. This is needed to determine if your skin is allergic to a product you want to use. Put on a modest quantity of the cream or lotion on a patch of skin and wait for 24 hours for a reaction, if any. If the skin area looks normal, it is safe for you to apply the product. To get the most out of depilatories, it is best to use them following a bath because this is the time when hair is soft and the pores are open. Follow the product application directions exactly! Never leave it on any longer than it says to and use a watch or timer to make sure. If you have any soreness, acne or open wounds on the skin, hold off until they heal before employing depilatories. Women use depilatories around once every two weeks, but the frequency of use still depends on how fast the hair grows.

In the past there were two ways to get rid of unwanted hair. You could scrape the hair away using a sharp blade or you could pull each individual hair out one by one. Thankfully, science and technology has given the world more options. You can still opt to shave or pluck but there are more efficient ways for covering large areas. Permanent hair removal systems are great for getting rid of hair for good but if you are looking for something a bit less expensive, then you might want to consider a hair removing cream.
Before you use a hair removing cream, you need to know a few things. The active chemical ingredients in Nair hair remover and any other cream hair remover are designed to basically “melt” the hair from the root. The cream gets farther into the follicle than shaving could ever hope to accomplish. This means that the hair grows back at a slower rate; therefore, you can go longer between treatments. Instead of shaving every day, you may only have to apply the cream once a week or two weeks. This is a definite bonus for those women who are always on the go and do not have time to shave.
Wait before you grab that bottle. There is something else to keep in mind when using cream depilatories. You could have an allergic reaction to the chemicals. It is important to perform a skin allergy test before you go slathering it on your entire body. A vicious rash in your groin area can be extremely bad. You definitely do not want to go around itching all of the time. A skin allergy test on your inner elbow will let you know how the chemicals react with your particular skin type. You should also know that no matter what fragrance the bottle claims, or rather lack of smell it produces, they all still smell like chemicals. Some just have the scent of flowers trying to mask the chemical smell. As well, if you choose this option, then you should speak to your doctor about the adverse affects that these chemicals may have on your skin over a prolonged period of use.
If you have made up your mind to use a hair removing cream, then it is absolutely essential for you to follow the directions completely. The directions are there for a reason. Do not attempt putting the cream on areas it is not designed for. You could wind up with a terrible outbreak or skin allergy. If you have a “sensitive” area you want to have the hair removed from, then it may be better to either shave or visit a hair waxing specialist.

Facial hair and facial hair removal are subjects most women would care to not talk about or even admit they exist. (What hairs, I don’t see any hairs?)
But many women will do almost anything to remove facial hair if it is even a tiny bit noticeable.
So let’s buck the trend as we open up and talk about facial hair and facial hair removal for women. Let’s become enlightened as we eliminate some of the mystic behind it and examine some of the truths about facial hair removal for women.
(There we have even said it out loud… That wasn’t so bad was it?)
Facial hair has always been a concern for many women and even a small amount can be quite embarrassing.
(Now admit it I’ll bet you have panicked more then once or twice when you saw one of those extra dark and extra coarse hairs somewhere on your face. Come clean now I won’t tell anyone. I promise.)
Although throughout history there have been several prominent women who refused to remove excessive facial hair either as a way to buck society or fight controls placed on women.
Usually the cause of excess facial hair for women is a hereditary factor but a less likely cause may be due to a medical condition.
If there is a sudden increase in facial hair growth that can’t be explained, it’s a good idea to check with a doctor to see if there is a medical reason or if there is something that could be done to decrease the hair medically.
Some women especially those women with darker hair may have more of a problem then women with lighter hair. Many of these women find that facial hair removal is a problem they need to deal with most of their adult lives.
Women reaching menopause age often have an increase in facial hair growth due to the decrease of the female hormone Estrogen, creating an imbalance between the amount of female to male hormones in their system.
This is a natural part of aging and something most women will face as they age. (The saying ‘age gracefully’ must have been invented by a man.)
Even though it is a natural part of aging, it can be an additional traumatic event for some women having difficulty with the aging process as they feel they are already dealing with so many unpleasant changes in their bodies.
This can be extremely troublesome to women who have not had a problem with facial hair in the past and for the first time in their lives are now faced with the decision of how to remove it.
Most women hate facial hair more then any other hair on their bodies and if they believe it to be noticeable, even if other don’t, they will go to almost any length or expense in order to eliminate the problem.
Women have fought the use of shaving as a form of facial hair removal because of a false belief that shaving will increase the amount and coarseness of the hair.
They have an image of themselves becoming the bearded ladies from the freak shows of the past. This is an old wives tale, as shaving in actuality will do nothing to change the amount or texture of the facial hair. (No, you will not start looking like a man if you shave.)
The shaved hair has a blunt end that feels stubblier when growing out then the naturally growing hair and therefore feels coarser when in reality it hasn’t changed at all.
Contrary to popular opinion, shaving as a form of facial hair removal for women will not speed up the growth of the hairs or increase the numbers of hairs on your face either. (Those old wives were busy weren’t they?)
Shaving really is a safe and easy form of facial hair removal for women. It can be done quickly, painlessly and quite inexpensively compared to most other forms of facial hair removal used by women including electrolysis, lasers, and waxing.

Shaving for women today is not the nightmare it was in the past. (At least that’s what we are told to believe.)
With all the shaving products and services on the market, there is no longer a need to suffer just to have well shaved body parts. This is definitely a true statement, but women really need to do their homework in order to find the right products and methods for shaving that will truly help them accomplish this.
Many shaving products are now made specifically for women and some are made for a woman’s particular body parts.
In the not too distant past, the only choice women had was to use the same razors made for men by men, but today, the manufacturers have realized what a great market there is for companies focusing on the individual needs of women alone.
This has rapidly become a very competitive market and women now must be wise shoppers and not just fall for all the hype.
There really are so many options to chose from it can become quite overwhelming, but with a little research, you can explore the possibilities and decide for yourself what methods and products are best for you and your type of shaving.
Shaving for women can become an extremely unpleasant, painful, and expensive chore. Or it can be an easy, pleasant experience that you don’t mind at all. You might even find that you love the results, like the perfect dream come true. The choice is up to you.
Even with all the changes in the market, one of the most popular choices for women is still shaving in the shower with a razor. This is the shaving method taught to so many women by their mothers and continues to pass down through the generations, especially by those women who don’t take the time to carefully examine all of the options open to them today.
If you really examine other alternatives, you will find that shaving in the shower actually is not the best option available for women. For example, check out the scenario below:
I don’t know if you have noticed, but women’s body parts are not flat like the manual razors many women use today for shaving in the shower. A flat blade meeting up with a rounded or curved body part is not the greatest idea as far as I can tell.
I don’t know who ever thought this idea up, but even I can look at that straight flat blade and my not so flat body parts and think something isn’t clicking here. (Flat … Curved … Flat … Curved … Cuts … Irritation … What do they expect?)
I’ll bet you have tried many times to pull that skin flat enough under your arms to get a good close shave without cuts, right? How about shaving your knees? Talk about rounded! How many times have you just ignored those knees and said to yourself, “I’ll just do those next time”?
How about shaving your pubic region? NOW your talking curves! Ever tried that with a nice straight, (SAFETY?), razor?
These manufacturers and marketers say they are catering to the modern woman’s shaving needs. Yeah, right. Do you believe that one?
They DO expect us to nick and cut ourselves. They expect shaving for women to include razor burns and skin irritations.
How else are they going to convince us to keep buying another razor, spending more and more money looking for that perfect razor and a different one for that matter for each separate body part?
How else will they get you to be dissatisfied with your present product and get you looking for something more?
How else will they get you to buy that perfect shaving cream and that perfect aftercare lotion?
Remember – Shaving for women has become a multimillion-dollar business. How will they make all of that money if you find a product or method of shaving that not only works, but also doesn’t cost you lots and lots of money? If you said, “They won’t.”, then you are right again.
Like I mentioned at the beginning, it’s up to you to do your homework and find the option that meets your needs. No one else will do it for you. But it really is easy to do and you can start right now by checking out all of the information and articles on shaving for women available on the Internet.
And just maybe you can cut through all of the hype and find that dream come true of the perfect shaving experience.

I know, I know the removal of facial hair for women is a touchy subject, but we are among friends right? So, if we are friends just like on the TV shows, it’s perfectly fine to discuss this so sensitive subject, right? Right!
OK then – Let’s take a look at the different types of recommended treatments for the removal of facial hair in women so we can decide for ourselves what would be in our own best interest. Friends look out for friends, right? (Right again.)
Recommended treatments include threading, waxing, shaving, electrolysis, tweezing, depilatory solutions and laser.
Wow – I didn’t think it would take very long, but this is quite a list of choices, don’t you think?
Threading is becoming quite popular in the US today for the removal of facial hair in women, but has been practiced in other parts of the world for centuries. Many say it started in the Middle East, or perhaps India.
It is definitely an art form and is performed by trained artisans usually found in Indian neighborhoods around the country. They use a single cotton thread to wrap around your hairs and pull them out by the root. (Ouch!)
Many say it’s great for the removal of facial hair at least for women because you are usually just removing small amounts of hair from eyebrows, upper lips, cheeks and chin areas.
(Well at least that’s good to know. I’d sure hate to see too many of my hairs pulled out by the root for any reason.)
With threading there is less irritation to the skin than with many other forms of facial hair removal, but there will still be some irritation. (Some irritation they say. The hairs will be pulled out by the roots! Ouch again.)
They also say there is a pinching feeling similar to tweezing, but it goes much more rapidly then tweezing. (I don’t know about you, but that’s a pinch I could do without.)
It can also be quite expensive if you can find someone skilled enough to perform this art form of hair removal and you will need to have it repeated about every three weeks.
People have recently developed a fascination with the Eastern philosophy and threading seems to be an extension of that fascination. (I think I’ll stick with Yoga or meditation to fulfill my fascination, thanks.)
Many women find waxing as one of the better forms of removal of facial hair available today. It can be used for removing hairs from small places like brow lines and upper lips.
With waxing, hot wax is put on the skin where the hair is to be removed and a strip of linen is applied and then pulled off quickly to pull the hairs out from the roots. (Not the roots again. Talk about painful. Now you have roots pulled out and hot wax on your skin!)
The skin can become quite red and sore from waxing and it can also cause the skin to prematurely wrinkle as the top layer of skin is often pulled off with the hair. (OK, so now we have no hair, but we risk getting more wrinkles? Great, I can’t wait.)
I don’t see any reason to subject ourselves to anymore examinations of pain just for the removal of facial hair when there are perfectly good facial hair removal products for women on the market right now that are totally pain free.
These products include personal shavers, hair removal creams and hair inhibitors for the removal of facial hair in women and actually are quite inexpensive. They will also safely and easily remove all of your unwanted facial hairs without any irritation and you can use any one of them in the privacy of your own home without any torturous pain.
There is also no need to scour the cities for trained Indian artisans. Just check out the various products recommended on this site and you won’t be disappointed.
I told you I’d look out for you.

Hair is a funny thing. There are those among us that desire more hair and those who do whatever they can including the use of electrolysis to remove their hair. Yes it’s true, some of us want more hair on our heads while less hair on our chest while others want less hair on their heads and more on their chest. And the same goes for legs, faces, armpits and even backs. Go figure!
Like I said, hair and it’s removal or quest for more is a funny thing in our society today. However those of us looking for removal methods of unwanted hair have a much easier time of it than those looking to gain more hair. And many people are finding that recent advances in electrolysis are moving this form of hair removal into the category of the more effective forms of hair removal on the market today.
One of the greatest allures of electrolysis for hair removal is that it’s one of the more permanent procedures available. After several treatments, most people find that the area will remain free of unwanted hair for extended periods of time and in some cases it can remove the hair forever. When this permanent removal occurs, the lucky person believes the hassle was well worth it after all.
We all know that electrolysis has been used for many years. However when used appropriately and by a qualified professional, there are very few risks involved and it’s much less painful than many people expect it to be. Yes, I do believe electrolysis hair removal is one of those types of procedures that requires a skilled and trained professional who has experience performing this particular procedure. There are some home kits available, but it really is a good idea to visit a trained person for this service and leave other hair removal methods for use in the home environment.
The next thing to consider is that electrolysis hair removal will require several treatments depending on the amount of hair in need of removal, the particular location of the hair being removed and your own particular type of skin and hair. The number of required treatments for your own hair removal needs will usually be determined as the results are observed over the beginning sessions. Remember that each hair is removed individually so you may have to return for an extended period of time if you’re looking to have a substantial amount of hair removed.
Now, when it comes to the length of each treatment these too will vary anywhere from ten minutes to as long as an hour based on the amount of hair to be removed, the location of the hair removal and the schedules of you and the professional performing the procedure.
The pain associated with electrolysis hair removal has been a drawback for many considering its use, but in fact electrolysis hair removal is comfortable when the proper equipment is used appropriately by a trained professional. The equipment is designed so you, the customer, might feel a slight tingling sensation, but no real pain. And is actually safe to use on even the more sensitive parts of the body including the eyebrows and the upper lip. And the best part is that there are no harmful substances or chemicals to irritate or burn the skin.
If you’re interested in electrolysis for your hair removal needs be sure to investigate the services of several establishment before committing any money for services. Make sure that the salon or clinic is very clean, the equipment is the latest available and that it meets all of your states requirements.

Women, have you been thinking about facial hair removal, but you’re too afraid to ask anyone for advice?
Do you spend each day looking in the mirror and thinking, “I really should do something about facial hair removal”, and then you just tweeze out a couple more hairs and go on with the rest of your day?
Is it now getting to the point where a couple of tweezes a day isn’t cutting it?
Do you realize something better needs to be done about those hairs that just keep popping up and are becoming more and more embarrassing or maybe a total nuisance?
Or maybe you are just getting sick of tweezing them? It’s painful and leaves those little red bumps that can last for hours, days and even sometimes, for weeks.
Talk about embarrassing. Isn’t that when you start wishing the hair would just grow back or you had never pulled it out in the first place?
So what is the best way for women to deal with facial hair removal you ask?
Gosh, I thought you’d never ask. Now that you finally have – Let’s take a look at some of the available options:
How about depilatory solutions?
Aren’t you wondering how effective these hair removal creams are?
Great idea. Let’s start with depilatory solutions as our first option open to women for facial hair removal. Depilatory solutions, better known as hair removal creams have been used by women on their face as well as other parts of their body for quite a few years. Remember the original facial hair removal products and creams for women? (Well, maybe you aren’t old enough to remember the original, but I sure do.)
Depilatories are chemical solutions in the form of a cream that are applied to the hair and skin and the chemicals dissolve the hair in a few minutes. The problem with these creams is they can be very harsh to the skin, especially if you have sensitive skin. Even if your skin isn’t sensitive, it can still become irritated and develop rashes since the solution is used often to remove the facial hairs that will begin to grow back within a few days.
Oh yes – Don’t forget the obnoxious smell that can linger for quite sometime. (This is true even with perfumes added to make an attempt at covering up the smell!) This sounds like as much work as tweezing and even more painful, not to mention smelly. Maybe we should continue to look into options other than hair removal creams?
What do you think?
Did you just say, “So how about sugaring?” I thought that’s what you said, and I agree.
Let’s take a look at sugaring:
Sugaring is similar to waxing except it’s not as harsh on the skin. (Now that sounds like a step in the right direction.) Sugaring is a mixture of sugar, water, and lemon that is made into a sticky ball and applied to the skin where the facial hair is to be removed. Next it’s pulled off quickly in order to pull the hair out, root and all.
It’s not quite as painful as waxing since it only sticks to the hair and not the skin the way wax does. But it doesn’t pull out as much of the finer hairs the way waxing does either so it will need to be repeated more often then waxing. Sounds awfully messy and still quite painful to me. It doesn’t sound like much of a time saver either. (Making sugar balls has never been a highlight of my life.)
You know, if you are really looking for good advice and good answers to your questions about women and facial hair removal, you should take a look at what the experts on the Internet have to say about women’s facial hair removal. You’ll find some very good ideas and lots of articles for women that can really help you make well-informed decisions about facial hair removal and all other hair removal for that matter.
